The Research and Technology Development Centre (RTDC) has been established to explore cutting edge high tech research in the frontier areas of science, engineering and medicine. The research and Technology Development Centre under the leadership of Dr. S. K. Mishra (Director, Research) has been created as a centre of excellence and is currently playing an important role in enhancing the research methodology and practices for useful technologically important materials and products. The centre is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and working in collaboration with various institutions of repute both at the National and International level.
Scientists of RTDC are involved extensively towards the development of indigenous technologies at the lab scale. As an offshoot, step down piezoelectric transformer which is being used in small gadgets like mobiles, laptops, Inverters, etc has been developed under a Technopreneur Promotion (TePP) Programme of Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
Other R&D Endeavours include the development of
-
Energy through Wind
-
Development of Bio Diesel using waste Vegetable oils
-
Photovoltaic Solar Cells
-
Low cost productions of electricity by weight moving mechanism.
-
Development of Nanopores, Nano size particle and Polymer Blends
-
Drug Sensors
Research is also carried out at RTDC in the following fields: Composite cements, Nanocementitious materials, Green Chemistry, Remote sensing, Carbon Nanotubes and Semiconducting Thin Films.
